Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HackTheKnowledge platform ("HTK", "we", "us") available at hacktheknowledge.com. By creating an account or purchasing any product, you agree to these Terms in full.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or have parental consent) to use HTK. By using the platform you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You must not share your account or allow others to access your purchased content.
• You must notify us immediately at support@hacktheknowledge.com of any unauthorised use.
• We reserve the right to suspend accounts that show signs of sharing or abuse.

3. Platform Access & Licences

Upon purchasing a course or lab bundle, HTK grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access the purchased content for your own learning purposes. This licence does not include the right to redistribute, resell, or sublicence any content.

Access is lifetime for the specific product purchased, subject to the platform remaining operational and your account remaining in good standing.

4. Lab Usage — Acceptable Use

Virtual machine labs are provided strictly for educational purposes within the HTK curriculum. You agree not to:

• Use lab VMs to attack systems outside the lab environment.
• Attempt to escape the VM sandbox or access underlying infrastructure.
• Use lab compute resources for cryptocurrency mining, spam, or any illegal activity.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or copy proprietary lab images or payloads.
• Share lab credentials (Bastion links, admin passwords) with others.

Labs are subject to a Time-to-Live (TTL) budget per user per lab. The specific TTL is displayed before launch. Labs are automatically terminated when the TTL expires or the idle timeout (15 minutes without activity) is reached.

5. Payment Terms

• All prices are displayed in Euros (€) inclusive of applicable VAT where required.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. HTK does not store payment card data.
• Purchase confirms immediate access to digital content.
• Discounts and coupon codes are applied at checkout and cannot be applied retroactively.

6. Refund Policy

You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase provided you have not consumed a significant portion of the course content (defined as completing more than 30% of lessons or using more than 30 minutes of lab time). To request a refund, contact support@hacktheknowledge.com with your order details. Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days via the original payment method.

7. Intellectual Property

All course materials, lab environments, videos, source code, and written content are the intellectual property of HackTheKnowledge or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission.

8. Prohibited Conduct

• Attempting to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data.
• Interfering with platform availability (DoS, scraping, abuse of APIs).
• Uploading malware or any harmful code to the platform.
• Using the platform to facilitate illegal activity.
• Misrepresenting your identity or impersonating HTK staff.

9. Termination

HTK may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms. Upon termination you lose access to purchased content. Termination for cause does not entitle you to a refund. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@hacktheknowledge.com.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided "as is". HTK makes no warranties about availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HTK's total liability for any claim arising from use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain, without prejudice to your statutory rights as a consumer in your country of residence within the EU.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or prominent notice on the platform at least 15 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
