Accessibility Statement
Last updated: March 2026
HackTheKnowledge ("HTK") is committed to ensuring that its online platform is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. This statement applies to hacktheknowledge.com.
Our Commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We continuously review and improve our platform to remove barriers and provide an equitable learning experience.
Current Accessibility Features
- Semantic HTML5 structure with appropriate ARIA labels on interactive elements.
- Keyboard navigability across all primary navigation flows (login, course browsing, checkout).
- Colour contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA requirements across primary text and UI elements.
- Focus indicators visible on all interactive elements.
- Alt text on all informational images.
- Form fields with associated labels and descriptive error messages.
- Responsive design supporting zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality.
- Reduced-motion support via CSS "prefers-reduced-motion" media query.
Known Limitations
- Lab VM access (Bastion): The Azure Bastion web client used for RDP access is a third-party Microsoft component. Its accessibility is governed by Microsoft's accessibility commitments. Screen reader support within the VM itself depends on the operating system and tools installed.
- Video content: Some course videos may not yet have subtitles or transcripts. We are actively adding captions to all video content.
- PDF certificates: Generated certificates are PDF documents with basic text content. Tagged PDF accessibility is planned for a future release.
Compatibility
HTK is tested on the following platforms:
- Screen readers: NVDA + Firefox (Windows), VoiceOver + Safari (macOS/iOS).
- Browsers: Latest Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
- Zoom: up to 400% (content reflowed without horizontal scrolling).
Feedback and Contact
If you encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:

- We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.
- If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the relevant equality body in your country or the Spanish disability authority (CERMI, cermi.es).
Enforcement
This statement is made in accordance with the EU Web Accessibility Directive (Directive 2016/2102) and Spanish Royal Decree 1112/2018 on accessibility of websites and mobile applications of the public sector. As a private sector entity, we apply these standards voluntarily as a commitment to our users.
Review Schedule
This accessibility statement is reviewed and updated annually and whenever significant changes are made to the platform. Last review: March 2026.
